He was born on December 30, 1936 in Canton, China and emigrated to the United States (Illinois) in 1949 and then moved to Sacramento in 1967.
When he arrived in Sacramento, Jimmy worked at the Army Depot, and then enjoyed a long career with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) from 1971 until 1999.
His work ethic and his ability to motivate was an inspiration to all. He especially cherished his family and also the many friendships he formed throughout his life. His loving nature and interest in helping others was boundless. Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing golf, going to horse races and to casinos, watching football and basketball and attending the many sporting events that his children and grandchildren participated in. He also enjoyed being a part of the Sacramento Yee Fung Toy Association and attending their family events.
He instilled a strong sense of family with his children at an early age. Jimmy’s warm personality, compassion, ability to mentor, and his love for sharing stories will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Although Jimmy has left us, he will live eternally in our hearts, thoughts, and memories.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. George Hisatomi for his constant and compassionate care.
A funeral service will be held on February 1, 2024 at Harry A. Nauman & Son, 4041 Freeport Blvd., at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery, 4300 Folsom Blvd.
