Dennis Joel Updegraff

Dennis Joel Updegraff, 66, of Clarksburg, California, born on July 1, 1957, to the late Beverly (Neves) and Donald Updegraff passed away from a valiantly fought battle with cancer on October 4th, 2023. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel and Donald, and his sister, Julie. Dennis is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Barrett and Austin (wife) Melissa; grandchildren, Daniel and Samuel; daughter, Kendra; and sisters, Judy and Donna.

Dennis was a deeply cherished man in his community and family and will be remembered as a man of tireless faith and endless love. He had a passion for sports and music from a young age and was a member of Band, Theater, Football, and Baseball as a student at Delta High School, where he graduated with the class of ’75. He worked in television at the Fox 40 station in Sacramento before moving to Portland, Oregon, in 1987 where he soon met his love, Linda. They were wed on August 29, 1992, and built their home on Mt. Hood, before having their children Barrett, Austin, and Kendra. In 2002 the family moved back to Dennis’ hometown of Clarksburg, where he began his contracting business and became heavily involved in the community, the Community Church, and the Boy Scouts of America.

In May 2022 Dennis was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer, and on October 4th, 2023, he passed peacefully surrounded by his wife and children.
