I just saw this memorial to Chris as I was thinking about him on his upcoming birthday, which is two months before my own. So sad to hear he has passed. I knew Chris when I was in college. We worked together in Davis and became friends. Spent a lot of time with him bicycling and hiking all over the place. Our lives went separate ways but I’m thankful for our friendship. I wish him peace.

I met Chris the same time Denny did, over 20 years ago in an online video game. Sadly, in recent years we lost touch which is something I deeply regret. 

Chris was a pretty amazing guy. He knew a lot about a lot. You could talk to him about cars, music, video games, computers, obscure British comedies, pizza, anything!!  He was was and had a gentle way about him. I never met him in person nor do I even know what he looks like, but I will always remember his voice and the laughs we shared. 

I miss you, my friend, and am sorry that I didn’t get the chance to reconnect with you. My thoughts are with your family and share the grief of their loss. 

I’ve know Chris “crispy” since around 2000 playing online video games with him and other friends. An avid Mac fan, retro gamer, FPS WWII gamer and amazing person to know all these years. We often played almost 5 or more evenings a week. Late nights playing in squads and talking about amigas, Atari games, projects, music, and life. 

He’s not been on one in 28 days and I had a feeling something was wrong and didn’t have many ways to contact him and found this page. Truly going to miss one of my best friends of 20 years and sorry to not have had the chance to say good bye. 

I am sorry for his families loss. He mentioned traveling to see family up north at times and loved those visits. I live in Colorado but wish I lived closer to pay my respects in person. I will share his loss with our community. If family wish to contact me, please feel free. 

Chris Brenner was a wonderfully talented gentleman who will be sorely missed. 

He found me three years ago through our shared passion of retro-computing. We soon developed a strong friendship and communicated excitedly about projects, amongst other things.   He also had a strong affection for music and 80s culture, and would often send me his favorite songs or albums or videos he thought I'd like. I always did.

To me, Chris was a computer genius. He was a rare soul that could look at almost anything and already know how to recreate it from scratch. On top of that, he had the patience and kindness of a Master Teacher. He would guide me through our projects with the gentle touch of a close family member.  He was the leader, and I was his biggest fan and follower and pupil. Yet being an extremely private man he was totally fine with standing in the shadows and letting others evangelize his creations. 

He and I grew quite close these past few years. I will miss him terribly. Rest in peace, my dear friend.
