Townsend, Charles E. Sept. 29, 1920 - March 14, 2015
Charlie was raised in a military family and attended the University of Alabama ("Roll-tide"). He honorably served in the U.S. Army in World War II, was an avid tennis and pool player and loved golf. Charlie also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. He was an active and proud member of the Elks Lodge, #6. Devoted husband to the love of his life Josephine, father to Charles (Debra) and Douglas (Beth), and "Papa" to his grandchildren, Jessica and Alexander. He will be greatly missed by all. A viewing will be held at Harry A. Nauman & Son on Monday, March 23rd, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24th at Saint Anthony's Parish.
