“Buddy” as he was affectionately known to friends and family passed away unexpectedly June 20, 2016. Born in Coalinga, California on July 8, 1955, he later moved to Sacramento where he graduated from Luther Burbank High School. Buddy was a long time member of Capital City Baptist church where he was welcomed. Food and family were the things Buddy cherished the most and gave him great happiness. He took pride in his work at Dimple Records and the California Auto Museum through the help of InAlliance. He enjoyed traveling and went on many trips with New Directions Travel for the disabled including Branson, Memphis, Nashville, the Elvis Caribbean cruise, Mexico, Hawaii, Rankin Dude Ranch, and Washington D.C. He loved to swim. He had a beautiful smile. Buddy will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by his family, sisters Joyce (Tim) Gallagher, and Sandra (Jack) Johnson, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thanks to Doug Findley and all of Buddy’s caregivers and advocates, as well as his housemates Bob and Doug. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Irene Wright. We take much comfort in knowing they were there to welcome him to Heaven with open arms. Services will be held on Friday, June 24th, at 11:30 am, at Capital City Baptist Church, 8050 Jacinto Road, Elk Grove, CA 95758. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Directions Travel Scholarship, 5276 Hollister Ave., #207, Santa Barbara, CA 93111, or online at newdirectionstravel.org
