Anita Aurora Serrano

Anita Aurora Serrano went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 7, 2021 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was 87 years old. Anita was born on May 30, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Julio Brand and Anna Gerena, and was the beloved wife of the late Gil Serrano, to whom she was married for 67 years until his passing.

Anita is survived by her sister, Celia Estrada; and brother, Raymond Gerena. As well as her five children, Anna Ortiz, Gil Serrano Jr., Debora Melendez, Laura Torres, and Daniel Serrano, from which she has 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

Anita loved red roses and shopping. But above all, she loved to travel, especially to visit family no matter where they were in the world. We will miss her fiery spirit, elegance, and the presence she had in all of our lives.

Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation at noon followed by her funeral service at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Harry A. Nauman & Son Funeral Home, 4041 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento, California. 95822. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in a private ceremony at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
