John is survived by his loving wife, Michele Larkin; sons, John IV and Christopher “Topher”; and sisters, Carolyn Rund and Joan O’Leary.
A 30 year US Air Force Veteran, who worked in International Logistics, John loved fishing, golfing, classical music, caring for his orchids, attending New York Yankees spring training games, and above all was an avid world traveler.
While stationed in Ramstein, Germany, he met and married Michele on March 29, 1969 which began the adventures of a lifetime as the two traveled together.
Realizing their love of other cultures and the willingness to open their hearts to those in need, they adopted two sons – John W. Larkin IV from Bogota, Colombia and Christopher Michel from Bangkok, Thailand.
He continued to lead his family of four living and traveling around the world until establishing root in Tampa, FL where he retired at MacDill Air Force Base.
