George Kevin O'Toole

O’Toole, George K., 81, died November 10, 2017 peacefully in his home in Wimauma, Florida. He is survived by his wife Carmen Laura “Mary,” sister Patricia Slisz of Dunedin, Florida, daughter Elizabeth Papazian and her husband Alex and grand-daughter Meagan of Hawthorne, New York.

He is pre-deceased by Mary Costello O’Toole, mother of Elizabeth, parents Lawrence and Nora O’Toole formerly from Jackson Heights, New York, who immigrated to the United States from Counties Louth and Galway, Ireland. Formerly from Bayside, New York, George received his Master’s Degree from Fordham University and worked as a Vocational Counselor for New York City for twenty-seven years before retiring to Florida.

Throughout his career he was always happy to help others in need including his work for the Police Athletic League. Known for his kindness, warmth and sense of humor, he will be sorely missed by family and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 2 Broadway, Valhalla, New York 10595, (914) 949-2323 on January 6, 2018, 10:00AM.
