She was born in South Andover Maine on January 2, 1925 a daughter of Harry Walter Merrill and Mabel Hannah (Holman) Merrill.
Virginia attended Andover Elementary and was a graduate of Andover High School Class of 1943.
An entrepreneur most of her life, from 1944-1946 she raised beans for the cannery and was an assistant cook for union Water Co. at the “Pond in the River.”
She later with her first husband Keith Hodsdon, owned Dairy Farms, first in Andover, and later one in Vienna. The sold the farm in Vienna and bought Tim Pond Camps in Eustis Maine.
Virginia moved to Upstate New York and opened an Antique shop with her second husband Joseph Daigle.
Upon her husband Joseph’s retirement, she moved back to Andover and owned and managed apartments in Rumford.
She married Gordon Justard of Mexico and lived in Rumford and summered in Rangeley.
After Gordon passed away she moved to Florida to live with her daughter Brenda.
Graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Andover in the spring.
