She was born on August 3, 1943, to Margaret Coolidge and Kenneth Saunders.
Nancy had a long and fulfilling career as a Postmaster, retiring after many years of dedicated service. She was also an active member of the Dixfield Congregational Church, where she found much joy in her community.
She had a great passion for sewing, painting, and crafting. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her time at the ocean, where she found peace and inspiration. She was a gift to all who knew her, with never-ending kindness and a heart full of love.
She leaves behind her devoted children, Sootie Gauvin and her husband Michael, and Timothy Cross and his wife Linda. She was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Mallory, Natalie, Michael, Brian, and six great-grandchildren: Owen, Nora, Maycie, Otto, Luca, and Grayson. She is survived by her sisters, Jackie, Cheryl, Catherine and Donna as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband, John I. Tapley, and her sister, Jannine.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Dixfield Congregational Church 16 High Street, Dixfield, Maine 04224. At the family’s request there will not be any visitation.
