Mary Alice Gallant

PERU- Mary Alice Gallant, 74, of Auburn Road, Peru peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at her home, surrounded by family. She was born in Rumford on June 20,1946, a daughter of the late Fred and Alice (Dower) Beauchesne. Mary was educated in Rumford and Mexico schools.

On May 29, 1971, she married Joseph (Bill) Gallant in Rumford and together they in the Rumford-Mexico area to raise their family. Mary worked as a beautician, in her home for many years and worked as a PCA until retirement. She also loved animals, especially her beloved dogs.

Mary leaves behind her step-daughter Jill Morrissette and her husband Steve of Gardiner, a granddaughter Jessica Healey and her fiancée Tara Moulton of Augusta, a great-grandson Kye Oliver Joseph Simpson of Augusta, sisters Fern Gallant of Dixfield, Pattie Lavorgna and husband Joe of Delta Jct, Alaska, a sister Lydia Mason of Augusta, and one brother Tom Beauchesne and his wife Elaine of Roxbury, sister-in-law Ann Sawchuck and husband Bill of Canada, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her brothers Richard, Robert and Daniel and her parents Fred and Alice Beauchesne.

Graveside committal prayers will take place Friday May 28th at 12 Noon at St. John’s Cemetery in Rumford. A service of The Thibault Remembrance Center 250 Penobscot St. Rumford 364-4366
