He was born in North New Portland, the son of Cecil and Irene (Collins) Tripp and the youngest of eight siblings.
Glendon had a strong work ethic and started his life of working in mills at a young age, his first job being at the Fred O. Smith wood turning mill. He also spent a lot of time in the summer and fall months working at fairs all over the state. He could usually be found operating the rides or working at the concession stands.
His favorite hobby in life was fishing. Whether it be sunshine, rain or snow - Glendon wanted to fish. He especially loved deep sea fishing and smelting, where he created fond memories with his children.
He is predeceased by his parents Cecil and Irene, sisters Nathalie Dubay, Ruby Harvey, Helen Bryant, and brothers Leslie Tripp, Donald Tripp, Frank Tripp and Malcolm Tripp.
Glendon leaves behind his two children Stephen Tripp of Weare, New Hampshire and April Blodgett of Dixfield, as well as five grandchildren.
Glendon was a kind, positive person who could always be found with a smile on his face and will be greatly missed.
A graveside service will be held at the New Portland Cemetery at a later date.
