Dorene Catherine Roy

1938 – 2023

Dorene Roy, 85, of Roxbury passed away April 26, 2023. She was born Dorene Catherine Arsenault in Madison, Maine on January 15, 1938. She married Joseph Roy in 1960, and their union lasted 60 years until Joseph’s death in May 2020. Dorene was a homemaker and devoted to her husband and four children. She was a parishioner of St. Theresa’s Parish and Parish of the Holy Savior. She relished visits from family and friends, and she enjoyed playing cards, making jigsaw puzzles, and watching Hallmark family movies.

Dorene is survived by her daughters Janet Slive (husband Joseph Slive) and Debra Roy (husband Paul Pratt); sons Daniel Roy and James Roy; sister Donna Tripp; brothers Gary Arsenault and Richard Arsenault; step-sister Louise Tacinelli; two half-brothers; one step-brother; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; her birth parents Alphonse and Jeanette (Dennis) Arsenault; and her adoptive parents William and Rose Gallant.
