She was born in Mexico Maine on January 19, 1928 a daughter of William G. and Rose M. (Chabot) Gautreau.
Freda was employed as a waitress at Madison’s for 23 years and later at Ma’s Place.
She was an Avon Lady for 7 years and received a diamond pin for being one of the top sellers for the state of Maine. She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior and a member of the ladies auxilliary of the American Legion.
Freda enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, music and dancing. She also loved being outdoors whether it be fishing or tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed her many trips to Hollywood Slots in Bangor.
Freda is survived by her two daughters, Judy Ellis and companion Roger Whitehouse of Peru, and Debra. Moon of Turner; four grandchildren, Christine Reynolds, Diane Ellis and companion Rick Courtney, Amelia Moon and fiancé` Brett Burwell, and Philip Moon; two great grandchildren, Scott Reynolds and Cortney Barber and husband Daniel; one great great granddaughter, Penelope Barber; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, and her husband Philip G. Bernard, three brothers, William “Tex” Gautreau, Chester Gautreau, and Erene “Rene” Gautreau, and three sisters, Lorraine Arsenault, Gerry Lyons and Marjorie Coulombe.
