He was born on November 11, 1921 one of 10 children to Wilfred and Ida (LeMay) Richard in Newry.
Al proudly served his country during WWII in the US Army.
He was employed for 38 years with the Oxford Paper Company.
Al was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior.
He was a life member of the VFW, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and a member of the American Legion and the Snowshoe Club.
Al enjoyed golfing, skiing, and was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan.
Surviving are his children, Judi Fuller of Atlanta, GA, Beverly Newcomb of Mexico, Gregory A. Richard and wife Kathleen of Dixfield and Karin Poblete and husband Audie of San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Irene Gallant and husband Ivon of Rumford and Marilyn “Susie” Fournier and husband Roger of Mexico; a brother, Donald Richard and wife Joyce of New Sharon; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Olivette, a son Keith, sisters Belle and Blondie, and brothers, Omar, Leonard, Maurice and Eddie.
