Virginia Mae Futral

She was born to the late Marvin L, Allen Sr. and the late Agnes Board Allen on December 15, 1928, in Louisville, Kentucky. Mrs. Futral grew up in Meade County, Kentucky near Brandenburg.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel F. Futral Jr. and her daughter, Linda M. Settle. Mrs. Futral is survived by her son, the Reverend Samuel F. Futral III, her son in law, Clifford P. Settle and two grandsons, Andrew Settle and Thomas Settle.

She met her husband Sam in Fort Knox, Kentucky while he was serving in the U.S. Army there. They were married on September 2, 1952 and enjoyed 69 years of marriage.

Mrs. Futral loved visiting with her family in Kentucky, entertaining guests at her home in Roswell, reading, watching television and her cat Pippin. She also loved Georgia Tech football and watching the Kentucky Derby each year. She especially cherished having lunch each week with her friends in her neighborhood in Roswell.

Visitation will take place on Monday, November 14, 2022, from 6 to 8 PM at the Roswell Funeral Home. A wake service will be held at 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 10:30 AM at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church. The Reverend Samuel F. Futral III will preside. Committal will take place in the Green Lawn Cemetery and Mausoleum on Monday, November 21, 2022, at 11 AM.
