Thomas Conrad Stein, 60, of Alpharetta, Georgia passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2017 surrounded by his family. Tom was born on July 30,1957 in Buffalo, NY to Dr. William C. Stein and Shirley Bradl Stein as the fourth of six sons. Tom grew up in Lockport, NY, where he attended DeSales Catholic High School and Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.
Tom was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed swimming, tennis, football, and, despite the heartbreak associated with it, supported the Buffalo Bills every season. As an avid chef, Tom loved watching cooking shows and entertaining. No matter where he and his wife Gale lived, their house always quickly became the “go-to” house for both neighborhood and family parties. His horseradish making skills, his crushing victories when playing Dominoes, and his love of the beach (and Doc’s Bar) at Tybee Island were renowned amongst family and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his father Dr. William Stein.
Tom is survived by his wife Gale Stein; his mother Shirley Stein; the children he raised, Corey Byrd [Mary Beth], Joshua Teague, and Elizabeth Teague; his grandsons James Teague and Silas Byrd; his brothers William [Debbie], Michael [Margaret], Daniel [Ann], James, and Fred [Lisa]; as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A reception and celebration of Tom’s life will take place on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Roswell Funeral Home 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076 from 3:00pm until 5:00pm.
