As a young boy, Steve immigrated from Germany to the United States with his parents, what the rest of his life would be could only be described as “The American Dream”. Steve worked his way through college and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Heidelberg University, the first person on either side of his family to have obtained a college degree and he went on to have a successful career in personal lines auto insurance. Steve was someone who never let anything stand in his way and made no excuses, he was lovingly referred to as “The Honeybadger” by some family members. Steve spent 54 years with the love of his life, Ida and they raised a family together.
Steve’s passions included polka music, sports; in particular Falcons and Browns football and Bayern Munich soccer, fine German sportscars and perhaps most notably, cigars.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Johanna Klein and his wife Ida Klein.
Steve is survived by his son Michael Klein (Kelley), daughter Lisa Radford (Chad), grandchildren Paulina and James Radford and sister Katy Pavlik (Bob). Services will not be held at this time, the family hopes to have a celebration of life over the summer which in honor of Steve will be like Oktoberfest with cigars. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you wear a mask and get vaccinated for COVID when you are able to.
