Hello - my parents, William and Irene Flaherty’s gravestone sits right next to yours. I clean the area and adjust flowers whenever I am there. When my dad was alive and we picked that spot he said wow, I get to be  next to Stephen King. Now I see he was a CEO of a major corporation, my father was a CFO of a great company too. I like to think they are combining efforts to make our world a better place. ❤️

Stephen was a rare gem, a bold fire and was not afraid to dive deep into the real issues of life and inside of the heart. Being around him was an infusion of encouragement and the size of his faith muscles was very large. I loved his propensity toward action even to jump into the messy wavy waters - and I believe that is the heart of God. I'm sad he's not with us but glad he's with Jesus. When I read this it made me think of Stephen: "for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith." Acts 11:24

When I remember Steve I think of a man full of faith, full of the Holy Spirit, full of the fire of God.  I remembered today that Stephen in the Bible was also described that way: “ They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 6:5.  I totally expected him to beat the cancer.  He fought well and we prayed for him earnestly.  Psalm 139 reminded me we have a certain number of days written in our books.  Steve completed his ordained days.  Well done, good and faithful servant.  My hope is to become a King like Steve and rule and reign like he did.  God bless you dear brother in Christ.

I was probably about 13 or 14 the last time I've seen you, at 41 I still talk about you and your family. You may have never known the impact you had on my life. Truly a wise man that will be missed but never forgotten

Deb - we will miss Stephen so much, but we take comfort in knowing where he is.  Even though our time together on Earth was short he left us with a lifetime of impact!

I've never had a better friend than Steve.  He was always a light and an inspiration. Love to all his family, the ones I know well, and the ones I only know by name. 


I can't say how enriching my life has been knowing Steve King. Our memories are vast and lovely. The many trips we shared are etched in my memory as ones that will forever be viewed as loving, family times where we were able to share laughs, meaningful experiences, and time well spent.

We have shared tears and difficult times as well. Steve has always been the pillar of comfort and strength. He was quick with a complement and truly appreciated his life and others'.  To put life into perspective and to always bring people back to what is important in life is an understatement for Steve. 

You will be missed, Mr. Hands up, and full speed ahead. We're with you always!

My formative years as a high school kid were spent in Steve's home, enjoying the company of his beautiful family.  Steve was as much a fixture in my life as a parental figure and I cherish the many memories spent listening to him play Santana on the piano, enjoying the food in his innovative new restaurants, and celebrating the joys of life inspired by his infectious laughter.  Steve was a good man and I am so thankful for the times when our journeys were shared. 

I knew Steve only a short time.  He made his way into my heart and I came to love him very much.  I loved just chatting on the phone with him... our calls always uplifted me.  I learned from him.  I admired him.  I saw qualities in him that I will embody into my own life.  He was a bright light for me and for so many.  I wish I could have shared more time with him.  I love him.  I miss him already. 

I am sending each of his family members all my thoughts and love during this time.

I will forever be grateful for how Steve modeled a  passion for Jesus. He loved  Jesus so much... It was evident in the way he lived his life and lead people toward a relationship with his Savior.  

I truly enjoyed working with Steve and miss him already.  He was one of my favorite clients and someone worth fighting for. May God bless his soul and all of his loved ones. 

I know Steve you are in Christ, and I know I'm in Christ... so no doubt we are together with Jesus even now.

Mr Steve was one of the smartest, caring human being i have ever meet. His memory was very photographic and one of a kind. I have never ever meet a family like his family! My name is Winston Douglas I know Steve from Bando on Saturday mornings a part of Four Streams Ministries. I always would say Steve had such energy and love for the Lord that whenever he got up to speak I envisioned that they should have been at rock band in front of him and a smoke machine and lights. I love Steven it's his energy and his love for God and his love for people, he gave me the book waking the dead and he was a good friend. My condolences to his family and friends but he's in God's arms thank you

Steve, Steve, Steve is how my wife and I would welcome my buddy Steve.  From the first time I met Steve I felt a connection.   He always greeted me with a big smile, a warm, firm handshake, and a hug.  It was not long after we developed a relationship built on our faith and our love for people.  Steve and I found commonality being of different races and backgrounds, based on our faith.  He loved the Lord and loved talking about the Lord.   He often said that he was drawn to New Birth.  Shortly after we met, I invited him to stay with me and my wife at our home.  Steve was faithful in his attendance at our church.  So, every weekend that he was not out of the country, Steve made the trip.   Steve was a great storyteller.  He shared his emotions, his victories, his failures, his family, his work, his hopes and dreams with me and my wife.  We walked together for that year, which was a difficult time for him.  But as his walk with the Lord became stronger, he became emotionally stronger.  Steve was baptized and remarried while at New Birth.  Debbie, Brittany, David, Nicole, and Candace he loved all of you and was so immensely proud of each of you and your accomplishments.  He was one of the proudest husbands, father-in-law, and grandfather my wife and I have ever known, boasting proudly after the birth of each child and grandchild.   We will all miss his laughter, his sense of humor and his genuine love for his faith, family, and his fellow man.   He was a wonderful human being.  And as our now-deceased Bishop would say…”it does matter that he was born”.  I am convinced, that Steve is now sitting amongst the crowd of witnesses boasting about the family he leaves behind.  Continue to make him smile from above by continuing on with his legacy.

Brother Steve you were a very gifted special man!! It was truly a pleasure being your business partner.   I know many of the stories will be about your business skills and acumen. I have many of those too but would like to share a more personal one. My favorite one is watching you water ski at age 60. You had not done this in decades but your usual youthful enthusiasm approach on EVERYTHING in life enticed you to jump in the lake and give it a HELL of a try. As usual, it was a great success like everything you do!!  You have been a great inspiration to many and to my entire family. We will never forget all your teachings and I will miss all the calls 24/7 with lots of emoji thumbs up and smiley faces, etc!!

John and I are so blessed to have known Steve.  He always had a smile and a hug for everyone he met.   What a witness he was for the Lord.  We love and will miss him.  Peace and comfort go out to his family and friends, especially Deb, Joanie and Melissa.

Steve was a mighty man of God and I am honored to have met him through North Point Men's Prayer Group and call him my friend. Steve's invitation to the "Waking the Dead" study session last year was transformative for me and I thanked him for looking out for all the men out there who need to hear the message of healing and restoration through Christ.

I have been blessed to know Stephen King and we shall meet again in God's time and in His place.

Steve was a student of mine when I was a professor at the University of Cincinnati. He and I did several business ventures together and we stayed in contact over the years.   He always had a deal brewing and his excitement for the business venture kept him restless and added to his enjoyment. Steve had a great heart and love for the Lord. Where do we begin about Mr. Steve, every time he visited his family in Cincinnati he brought BIG smiles, great laughs, and the POWER of God!! I was one of  his father’s care takers and he always let me know how happy he was I was in their lives! I remember Mr. Steve loved to take his father to the movies, I got to see some great movies thanks to him. The love he had for his little sister was so cute, it was always big brother little sister vibe like “Missy” was always 10 in his eyes. He was a grown man with grandchildren, but he was always his mother little boy, the love between the four of them was so special and most importantly, they all loved God.  He meet my whole family and my mother adored him, she loved his spirit it was always bright, full of God and we will truly miss him. From Tonya, Tiffany, Tameria, and Felicia
