Dear Andrea.   I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Stephen's passing, yet another tragic loss that has befallen you and your family. I knew your beloved husband briefly during the early 1980s as a member of the North York Y in Toronto.  Excelling in long distance running, he was extremely fleet of foot. Always at the head of the pack, the rest of us might catch a brief glimpse of his reddish blonde hair flying past in the wind almost as expediently as the rest of him.  My deepest sympathies.  Life is becoming shorter for us all.

Dear Andrea and family:
I am so very sorry for all of you in the loss of Stephen.  I first met Stephen in junior high school and one of my fondest memories goes back to that time when he was running for class president.  He stood at the front of the class and gave an eloquent speech with confidence beyond his years – not arrogant or cocky – but confident and sincere.  I remember that throughout our school years together we laughed a lot.  It was wonderful to reconnect with Stephen and meet  his beloved Andrea at our high school reunion in 2007 and to continue that friendship through emails, Christmas cards and the bi-annual 60s reunions at Balmy Beach.  He continued to be confident, sincere and to laugh a lot.  These are the things I will remember about Stephen always.  My sincerest sympathies to all of you in the loss of someone so special.  To quote Michael Jackson, Stephen is definitely “Gone too soon”.

I have only known Stephen since 2007 when my wife (Linda Simpson) introduced me to her former classmate and is wife, Andrea at The 100th Riverdale Anniversary.  We had an immediate connection and since then have regularly visited at each others homes and vacation spots.  Through Skype &  Facetime technologies, we've kept in touch many times over these few years.

While I had only known him for 7 years, I am truly thankful that he became my friend.  I will truly miss him and will never forget him....... Rest in Peace, Stephen.

Stephen and I were friends during high school where we both played clarinet in the band. He was always full of fun and his laugh was contagious. We lost touch and fortunately reconnected in 2007 at our high school reunion. Since then, my husband I have enjoyed the friendship of both Stephen and his lovely wife Andrea and have kept in regular touch as well as visiting periodically. We will truly miss Stephen. He was such a wonderful guy. Thankfully he has been relieved from his pain. Our love and condolences to Andrea and all your family.

Dear Andrea & Family -
My fondest memories of Stephen (our across the street neighbor for years) come from watching him work in the yard - he was relentless and worked fast and hard. In fact, I never saw him still!!  I also enjoyed watching him with his grandgirls as he and Andrea would often walk them to the pool.  He was always attentive and always smiling when he was with them.  He offered his
help with whatever I needed after my husband suffered two heart attacks last
summer.  It was a sad day for us when they moved in December, but an even
sadder day that we will not be able to see him again.  To Andrea and family,
I pray daily for all of you and am asking the Lord to comfort you during this
time of loss as only He can do!!
