Bob, as known to his friends and family, was an avid birdwatcher in his spare time. Bob loved pottering around in his yard, and anything involving his granddaughter and watching her sporting and musical activities, and just spending time with her. He loved music, and would often be found reading his favorite book with music playing loudly in the background.
Born in Weymouth, Dorset, England, Bob, was offered a scholarship to be a chorister Canterbury Cathedral school, but instead chose to join the Sea Cadets Navel College, which lead him to eventually become a Chief Engineer for the RFA (Royal fleet Auxiliary).realizing he didn’t want to be away from his new bride for months at a time, he then joined the Blue Streak Rocket base at Spadeadam, in Cumbria England, and was an engineer with Rolls Royce. After receiving his BA in Engineering he then joined Marconi a British telecommunications and engineering company, only to be sought after by Coca Cola, for his business management and physics capabilities. This led Bob, becoming the Plant Manager both in Durham in the NE of England and Dublin Ireland. Then another promotion to join Coca Cola in Atlanta Georgia, at their head office, a job he loved in Quality Assurance, and travelling all over the world helping engineering and building new plants ( factories).
After his retirement, he still consulted with Coca cola and then helped with a non-profit organization helping those who wanted to start new business and needed guidance with a business plan, again, Bob loved helping people.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Edwin Crabb, Mother Ida Crabb ( Dowding), Brother Philip Crabb.
Bob leaves his wife Valerie ( Robson) Crabb, Daughter Fiona-Jane Wheeler ( Crabb), Son-in-law Don Wheeler and Granddaughter Katie Wheeler, Brother Bryan Crabb and sister-in-law Kathy Crabb, and Esme McCuaig sister, in addition to many cousins nephews and nieces, in England and new Zealand.
