Reba Faye Marks, 89, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013. She was born October 4, 1924 in Hamlin, Texas and after having lived the life of a dedicated career Army officer’s wife in many cities around the US and the world, moved with her husband Joe to The Villages in 1989 from Santa Maria, CA. She was a member of St Timothy’s Catholic Church where she volunteered on the welcoming committee.
Reba loved life – most especially dancing, playing cards, golf and drinking scotch. Her wonderful sense of humor kept everyone around her amused, entertained, and on their toes. She was truly devoted to her family and especially loved her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Reba was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 61 years Col. Joseph W. Marks, her parents Stonewall and Marguite (Hamric) Parker, her sisters Jean (Parker) Mount and Sallie (Parker) Suddath and her son Gerald Swafford.
She is survived by sons Joseph M Marks, Houston, TX; and Michael J. (Julie) Makropoulos Roswell, GA; 5 grandchildren Matthew, Taylor, Stephanos, Victoria and Nicolette and one great-granddaughter Evelyn.
Services will be held Friday December 6, 2013 at 8:30 am at St. Timothy Catholic Church in The Villages, FL with burial following at 11:30 am at the Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell, FL.
