Ray Madison Kilgore, aged 71, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024 after a lifelong battle with diabetes. He was born in December of 1952 to Robert Kilgore and Joy (Crosslin) Kilgore in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
He is survived by his daughters, Evie Kilgore and Angela Goodwin; grandchildren Tristyn Ballenger, Niam Goodwin and Maddox Goodwin; siblings Kay (John) Sauers and Jon Kilgore. He is preceded in death by his daughter Erica Kilgore, his grandson Trenton Ballenger, his sister Jan Tolbert and parents.
Ray is now in heaven reunited with his daughter, grandson and many other loved ones. His body is healed and his eyesight regained.
Ray loved nothing more than his children and grandchildren. He was a father that his children could always count on. He loved hearing all about his grandson’s sports and having them over to spend time with them. He adored his granddaughter Tristyn who took such great care of him and spent lots of time with him talking about music, telling stories of his life and everything in between. He spent a ton of time looking up history of his family tracing his heritage back through the past, having extensively researched his family in Texas and even Europe. He was a lifelong sports fan, rooting for the Alabama Crimson Tide, usually seen in his Alabama gear and a Diet Dr Pepper in hand. He lived a faithful and fulfilling life, being a constant example of independence, reverence and charity, whether it be for his family or community.
In honor of his wishes, a Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 1:00pm in Green Lawn Cemetery to celebrate Ray's life and honor his contributions to our world. Ray’s departure leaves a void in our hearts, but his legacy will forever be cherished by those who were honored to know him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Andrew Womack Ministries in Ray’s memory.
