Patricia Leslie “Patti” Roberts, 64 of Alpharetta, GA died peacefully in her home on Monday, November 21, 2022 from complications due to ALS. Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, she was the daughter of the late James E. Roberts and the late Yolonda (Thomas) Roberts. A 1975 graduate and valedictorian of Colegio Internacional High School in Caracas, Venezuela, Patti received her Bachelor’s Degree in Latin American Studies, Anthropology and Political Science from the University of Florida in 1978. She also received her Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Political Science and Latin American Studies from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, CA in 1980. Upon graduation, Patti joined the Peace Corps where she taught English as a foreign language to high school students in Say, Niger, West Africa for two years. After which she began her 37-year career in the hospitality industry with InterContinental Hotels, later known as InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). Patti worked in a variety of positions in hotels around the globe and as a global travelling trainer for their Central Reservations office, before moving to the Atlanta area in 1999 to join IHG’s Global Revenue Management team where she continued her storied career until retiring in 2020.
Having lived or worked in six of the seven continents, Patti was truly passionate about travel and her hundreds of friends around the globe are a true testament to her kind and generous spirit. Patti also loved to read, was a movie aficionado and was enthusiastic for collectibles (dolls, teddy bears and all things Disney).
