Olin Head, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and community servant, passed away on August 18, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on November 16, 1933, to Mr. Howard Head and Helen McLean, Olin lived a life marked by dedication to family, service, and community.
Olin was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having joined immediately after high school. He served honorably with the 82nd Airborne Division, where he demonstrated his commitment to his country and his strong sense of duty. His military service was a source of great pride throughout his life.
He was a loving husband to Mrs. Cam Head (Sabatino) for 45 years. Together, they shared a deep bond and built a life filled with joy and love. Olin is survived by his sons, Thomas Head, Jeffery Head, Sam Head (Laurie), and Dana Finkel, and his daughter, Marsha Rogers (Michael). His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Hunter, Christian, Lauren, Trevor, Lacey, Josh, Rachel, Christine, and Steven.
Olin also leaves behind his brothers, Owen Head (Carole), Carlton Head (Jill), and Douglas Head, as well as several nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. His warmth, humor, and generosity touched the lives of many.
In addition to his military and family commitments, Olin was deeply involved in his community. As an active member of the Alpharetta Masonic Lodge, he devoted many years to serving others through various charitable endeavors. His commitment to helping those around him was a testament to his character and his love for his community.
Olin had a passion for fishing and golf, often finding peace and joy in the great outdoors and on the course. His zest for life and his love for these activities were a reflection of his spirited and adventurous nature.
A funeral service to celebrate Olin’s remarkable life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at St. David's Episcopal Church in Roswell, GA. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor a man whose life was a testament to service, love, and dedication. His burial and committal service, with military honors, will be at Georgia National Cemetery on Friday, September 13, 2024 beginning at 1:00pm.
