Mrs. Norma Jean Martin Hulsey, age 80, of Dahlonega, Georgia, formerly of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023. Mrs. Hulsey was born on August 2, 1942 in Roswell, Georgia, daughter to the late Joseph Walter Martin and Cora Estes Martin.
Norma was a woman of fierce determination with a kind and selfless heart. Throughout her life she continuously pushed herself to give and do more as a wife, a mother, provider, and Christian. From an early age her incredible artistic talents were quickly recognizable. This talent developed greatly throughout her life, landing her artwork in numerous art galleries and art shows. Norma received an associate’s degree in Business Administration and began her career as a school bus driver. Her fierce determination led her to eventually becoming the Transportation Supervisor for the Forsyth County School System, from which she retired. Planning for retirement, she and her late husband, Mr. Jarrell James Hulsey Jr., moved to the Dahlonega mountains. Norma was diligent to give everything she had to her career, her children, and her husband; never allowing anything to stand in her way. Along with her artwork Norma loved spending time with family, her fellow artists and her friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend; Norma will certainly be missed by all how knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her husband Mr. Jarrell James Hulsey Jr.
She is survived by her two children, Jamey Hulsey, wife Melissa, of Chickamauga, Georgia and Rhonda Hulsey Garrett, husband Mike, of Watkinsville, Georgia; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
