Milton attended the University of Texas in Austin and began his career in construction and related industries in the Houston area. Beginning in 1982, he worked for Hines Interests until his retirement in 2022 as Senior Vice President of Construction. He relocated to Atlanta in 1984 and was a founding member of the Dunwoody Rotary Club. His many projects include 191 Peachtree Tower in Atlanta, the Ravinia complex in Dunwoody, and other high profile developments throughout the country.
Among Milton’s hobbies was big game hunting. He traveled to several sites across his home state of Texas. While on a flight to one such site in McAllen on October 29, 1983, he met his future wife, Tisha. Seventeen days later they were engaged. They were married in McAllen on August 4, 1984.
Milton always said his biggest accomplishment was his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren from the moment they were born. He took them on many trips, such as skiing, the beach, and especially football games. His love for Texas Longhorns football was contagious. He took his children and later his grandchildren to several big games over the years, including the 2006 Rose Bowl, 2019 and 2024 Sugar Bowls, and several games in the 2024 season.
Milton is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Doris of Erie, Pennsylvania, his twin brother Malcolm Baker, his sister-in-law Vicky Baker of Houston, Texas and his nephew, Tim Craig, of Greenville, South Carolina. He leaves behind his wife, Tisha Baker, children Laury Richardson (Tim), Heather Hoeller (Dan), Lissa Harre (Ben), and Bradley Baker, fifteen grandchildren and one great grandchild as well as his sister, Janet Craig, brother Ron Baker (Gail) and their children.
