Janie & I are profoundly sorry for your loss. The ache is difficult to mitigate, but we take comfort in knowing that the memories and spirit Mike left behind will remain with us. Those memories are of a fun loving, caring, and warm spirit with a deep, abiding love for family and friends. 

Mike and I were great friends, especially in high school and college. In the intervening years we were separated by our career paths -  taking us to different places, as well as full absorption in our families, and the lives of our children and  grandchildren.  But memories of Michael T.  remain...

,,,, he was a "bright light" ,  charismatic, engaging, finding humor in most everything.

....he was always  "in the moment" , always positive, never down. Even in the face of 
     a  serious surgery when he was in college, he'd  joke about it.  With the intensity
     came  passion and competitiveness.    

....he loved his parents, talked about them often, and especially admired his Dad, who 
     he called "Big Tom." 

..... he loved his "blue convertible", his first car. This was no junker - it was stylish and 
      roomy.  I believe Mike paid for that car himself by working while in high school.

..... I will always remember the first time I heard about Cheryl. Mike could be a little 
       quirky and owned it.  He was beyond excited to tell me he had met this terrific 
       girl, Cheryl,  that understood him and had him figured out immediately.  He was 
       smitten.  Mike always knew what he liked, and I think he pretty much knew that 
       he had found the love of his life.

      For those who knew him,   Michael Thomas Corrigan was unforgettable.

Our family came to know Mike back in the 1950's in West Allis, Wisconsin, where we were neighbors with Gert and Tom.  My oldest son, Pat, and Mike were early childhood backyard pals, living two houses apart.  Mike was 5 years older, and Pat always affectionately called him “Big Mike”, and thought of him as an older brother.  So much so, that when our second son was born, Pat wanted him to be named “Mike” for his best friend - a bond which sealed our families' life long friendship.

Our three sons followed his life achievements and example in school, church, Boy Scouts, college and beyond, as he married and started a family along with a global professional career.  Mike was truly an inspiration to them.  When Mike achieved the Eagle Scout rank in Boy Scouts, Pat set that as his goal, as well – and so Mike began a chain of Eagle Scouts: himself, Pat, Pat's brothers Mike & Brian, and more recently Brendan (Brian's son).  Over the years, as each one of our boys earned their Eagle, Mike made the extra effort to travel and attend their Court of Honor, no matter where he was living – and ultimately honored our youngest son, Brian as the Guest Speaker for his ceremony.  Mike made an impression on an entire family of young boys, with his example of leadership, friendship and living a constructive life.  His warm personality obviously affected many other people in his life's pursuits – this is only one example of one family where he made a difference.

To Cheryl, Kelly, Adam and your families, we share in your grief, and the Good family expresses our sincere sympathy for this great loss of a truly outstanding husband, father and grandfather.

Mike and I go way back – over 50 years!  At some point a long time ago, before we were old, we started calling each other old buddy and it stuck.  Pretty sure it was his idea.  

Although we’ve never lived in the same city, I’ve always felt close to Mike.  We would exchange the occasional text and they were usually funny.  One of my favorites is when he was getting ready for a surgery, he said he was going to a training because he got a discount by choosing the ‘do it yourself’ option.  Afterwards, when I asked how he was feeling he said that his heart was beating 'like a marching band' rather than a ‘bunch of drunks walking down the street.'

Mike had a wonderful heart that was filled with love for his family.  Last year after visiting us in Arizona, Cheryl and Mike took a wonderful trip to several national parks.  He sent me a video of Cheryl sliding down the sand dunes, screaming all the way.  He titled it, “Your sis.  70 going on 13."  I will miss his great smile and infectious sense of humor.

Dear Cheryl and loving Family,
     I am SO sorry for your painful loss, and pray the Lord gives you all comfort in the days ahead.
    Mike meant a lot to me. I loved hearing stories about his life and family.  He was a mentor to this "green" manager,  and a friend with great wisdom and humor.  
  I still quote him all the time! Top quote- Me: it's a small world.  Mike: but I  wouldn't want to paint it.   
     He was kind to stay in touch over the years, still advising me, and praying for me and my husband Chris. 
     I think my favorite memory is when I worked for him and he called me Radar,  like from the TV show MASH.   I didn't know about choppers arriving in advance, but I sure gave him a lot of paperwork to sign!

I first met Mike over 50 years ago.  As his brother-in-law I got to experience first-hand his great sense of humor.  He was a funny guy who did not take things too seriously.  Unless of course he was enthusiastically talking about his Packers or Bulldogs!

I remember one year when he drove to Colorado with a car full of family.  He drove the entire way himself, refusing any help with the drive, and told everyone he was ‘golden’.  Truly the original macho man.

Above all, Mike was a passionate family man, extremely proud of his kids, grandkids and Cheryl.  He is gone too soon and will be greatly missed.

Had the privilege of serving on youth church committees and teaching Sunday School with Mike. So sarcastic in his funny sense of humor.

I have so many memories of knowing Mike for 40 years. My fondest memories are the early days of working together at J.I. Case . Being young and navigating those years together for so long.  I will miss our text messages back and forth as the Packers played football. He was the best man when my wife and I were married in 1990. Mike was always happy and I will miss that contagious laughter. I thank God for the years I had with Mike and all the smiles we shared. Mike loved his wife Cheryl and his children and grandchildren as much as any man could.  Desiree and I hold you all in our thoughts and prayers. Thank you for sharing your husband, dad and granddad with us.
