Mary Ellen Hagan, 84, passed away peacefully in Atlanta, GA on September 24, 2014, with her husband by her side. Mary Ellen was born in Elgin, Illinois and graduated from St. Anthony’s College School of Nursing in Chicago, IL. She loved being a caregiver and spent 40 years as an active Registered Nurse.
Mary Ellen was a dedicated member of the St Leonard's Faith Community in Centerville, OH, where she passionately volunteered in every aspect of the church, including volunteering in the Alzheimer’s Unit. Her interests included traveling with Friendship Force, participating in a Stock Club, gardening, reading, tennis and her love of exercise. She valued many friendships made around the world and hosted many international friends in her home in Centerville, OH.
Most importantly, Mary Ellen's life was devoted to her husband and family - her greatest joy. She will be deeply missed and forever in the hearts of her husband, Bill Hagan, her 5 children, Linda Zapp, Mike Hagan, Mark Hagan, Donna Simek, Pam Koch and their spouses, and her 9 grandchildren, Jonathan, Kaitlin, Maria, Billy, Mikey, Stephie, Matthew, Charlie and Anna.
Arrangements are with Roswell Funeral Home in Roswell, GA where the rosary will be said on Sunday, September 28, 2014 @3:30 pm, followed by visitation from 4:00 -6:00pm. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014 @ 10:30am @ St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Sandy Springs, GA. Interment and reception immediately follows the service @ Green Lawn Cemetery, 950 Mansell Rd, Roswell, GA.
