Margaret’s greatest pride came from being a Registered Nurse, graduating St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in 1947 and having volunteered to serve in the Cadet Nurse Corps. Her compassion and love for others was a shining light throughout her nursing life. Her distinguished hands cradled many newborns at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital; she sat vigil holding the hand of those taking last breaths, only to close their eyes as they entered the afterlife. Margaret’s interest and charity work included the Philomathia Club Scholarship Program at Boston College. Her nursing career expanded as she entered the Public Health sector, serving as a Registered Nurse for the City of Newton Health Dept., assigned Newton North High School until her retirement and relocation to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Margaret and her husband Ed shared a great love for ballroom dancing…at long last they are together once again as their music starts to play.
All who were fortunate to meet and know Margaret agree she was truly a lady of grace, kindness, style and refinement. Her love and compassion, unsurpassed.
Preceeded in death by her Husband, Edward C. Weizel.
Survived by her “Three Girls”, who will always remember her as the most loving, strong, gracious mother, guide, friend and role model. All the summers at the beach cottage, beautiful memories of holidays with family will forever be embroiled in our hearts.
