Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 26, in the St. David’s Episcopal Church. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA.
Louise was married to the late Robert L. DeLong. She is survived by her brother David P. Smith of Augusta, GA and two stepsons, Robert L. Delong and Richard R. Delong.
Louise retired in 1990 after 10 years as the Director of the Archibald Smith Plantation. She also worked for 17 years as an active real-estate agent in Atlanta area.
A longtime resident of Roswell and Atlanta, Louise was perpetually active in local civic associations which included service as president of the Roswell Historical Society and Chair of the Governing Board for the historic Archibald Smith Plantation Home. She also chaired and raised funds for an archeological dig which located the foundation of the first mill built in Roswell. Serving on the City of Roswell Master Plan Committee she chaired the Sub-Committee on Communication, and chaired the Bond Referendum Committee. Louise was also an active member of the Atlanta Music Club, Atlanta Symphony Guild, High Museum of Art, Atlanta Historical Society, Pro-Mozart Society of Atlanta, Friends of Roswell Library, Friends of Bulloch Hall, and a life member of the Roswell Woman’s Club.
The family will receive friends at Roswell Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 25 from 5:00 PM to 7:00PM.
