Delores and Lewis, 
I felt this Angel tough me today, it was Lew.  Many memories and conversations that we had shared came swarming around me, as bees swarm around honey. Lew was such a great business and personal friend for 17+ years, I only wished I would have had the opportunity to have seen him one last time.  Our comfort is in knowing we all have a guardian Angel Lew and he is in a much better place!

Our sincere sympathy in the passing of Lewis.  He was a great inspiration to all of us in the Murphy Class of 1959. I'm glad he was able to make our last reunion. He always seemed so positive.  He will be missed.

Lewis was a dear friend, and I have many good memories from 60 plus years ago. I will miss our jitterbug dance at each reunion. Deloris, I just heard of his death and my heart aches for you. He was very lucky when he met you, and my prayers are with you and your family.

At the last Murphy High School reunion, Lewis sought me out from way across the huge room..... We had memories of both Jr High and Senior High School.  We discussed his medical condition and impressed me with his spirit and warm personality.  What a great asset he must have been to his family and many friends.  He will be missed.

Just learned of Lewis' passing.  I remember him fondly.  We met on the first day of the first grade and went to school together thru graduation at Murphy.  He was one of the nicest guys I ever met; and, I know he had a positive impact on all those who knew him and on many who did not.  We have lost a true friend and a great American.  May God grant Solace to you all. family an friends; and, we all will remember him for who he was and for his impact on our lives.

We met Lew through MACAG almost 3 years ago.  Lew was wonderfully supportive and helped us (Margo) a great deal as a result of his knowledge from his long battle with neuroendocrine tumors.

And Dolores, you were equally supportive...always in the background of the telephone calls making sure Lew didn't stumble on his words and memory.  Us husbands secretly appreciate that.

We and the others at MACAG will deeply miss him.  He will always have a place in our hearts.

Big Lew touch so many over the years. His gentle manor and booming voice will be missed in this world. There will be a new star shining if the heavens tonight

Lew was such a kind and wonderful man.  I am so sorry that I cannot make the funeral.  He will be missed.  You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

Mrs. Delores my deepest sympathies and condolences go out to you and your family. The world has experienced a great loss. Lew was a kind and generous man who has done so much for so many. He will truly be missed... MACAG will not be the same without him.

We are so much better for having known Lew.  Always a smile and kind word.  We will always give a big "Rise Up" for him on Sundays. Delores we wish you and your family all the blessings and peace.

You meet Lew for the first time, but you feel like you have known him forever.  Charming, endearing and just a nice guy. And once you have know Lew for many years, personally or professionally, you realize what a strong person he his.  Those are the memories I will keep, and I will think of "Big Lew" often. Lew is my hero in the battle against cancer. Lew will long live in my memory as an optimistic and friendly warrior who was willing to give of himself to help others....I know, because I benefitted from every encounter Lew and Delores and I had at the doctor's office, and on the phone.
My thoughts and prayers are for Delores, who was an amazing caretaker for all those years.

So sorry for your loss - Mr. Marshall  was a kind spirit and a true southern gentleman - we will miss him.

Lewis, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Your dad was a great man. I valued and enjoyed his friendship both on a personal and business level. Although he will be missed, his memory will burn bright through his legacy.

I am very grateful for having known Lew, he helped me write a lot of insurance and as a result, we became good friends. "World Headquarters" is now on a "forever" cruise with Lew back at the controls again. He has been a good friend, and fellow Rotarian for many years. From one Zebra family member to another:  May the work Lew did speak for him.  He fought a good fight, and he finished his course. Peace be unto you Delores and family.

Lew was a fighter and never gave up, which is probably why he was able to battle his cancer for 15 years. Desite the cancer, he always was optimistic. Further, he remained charming and a "Southern gentleman" until the end. However, the most important measure of a man are his children. I have been fortunate enough to know his son Lewis, who shares many of his father's traits and who is a loving and kind father. So, Lew, ya done did good.

Dolores ... You and Lou have given so much to make the world a better place. He leaves a rich legacy of what one passionate person can do to make a difference.  Please remember that you are surrounded by tons of love and prayers.... John and Judy Wolfe
