Ken was an only child, a native Atlantan, born to Barbara Lamborn Witte of Marietta, GA, and the late Warren Center Witte. He grew up in Smyrna, Georgia and attended Campbell High School. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and met his wife of 32 years, Kimberly Bohannon Witte. Together they raised two wonderful children; daughter, Kyle McKay Witte and son, Tanner James Witte.
Ken was an Area Manager with US Bank and spent more than 35 years in the Atlanta Mortgage Industry.
He was a lover of alternative and rock music with artists like Chris Cornell and U2 having a profound impact on his life. He loved to spend his free time going to concerts, enjoying a great meal and glass of red wine with his wonderful friends, and traveling to any beach or ski slope he could find. He was a huge animal lover and especially loved his ‘Piggy Girl’, a pitbull rescue, and their lab puppy, Mojo. He just tolerated the cats. We know that Crash, Mogul, and Sinjin were waiting at the Rainbow Bridge to get to chase the tennis ball with him again.
Most importantly, Ken was an organ donor. In his final, most unselfish act, he saved the lives of five people with his generous gifts. His heart was the best part of him and it has brought life to another person who may not have had one otherwise. The family hopes that he will inspire more people to choose to become donors.
His memory will be cherished by his family and an immense number of friends. His core friendships go back almost four decades and were the source of his greatest memories.
