Kathryn Maddox Jordan

Kathryn Maddox Jordan, 91, passed away on August 3rd, 2015 peacefully, with family at her side. Mrs. Jordan was born in Tampa, Florida on May 5, 1924 and raised in Dublin, GA. She was married to Alton Jordan for 54 years. During her life, she was a Red Cross Volunteer and a longtime preschool Sunday School Teacher at Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta.

Known affectionately as “Granny” by her family and all their friends, her greatest joy in life was being a wife and mother. Her love was not just limited to family alone, but to anyone who walked in her kitchen.

She is survived by her daughter Gina Riffey and her husband, Doug, daughter Marilyn Dickerson and her husband David, son, Jim Jordan and his wife Xan, son Jason Jordan and his wife, Holley, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, August 6th, 2015 at 2:00 at Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta. She will be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday at Roswell Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. and at Eastside Baptist Church one hour prior to the service.
