John Winn McEnery, Jr, J.D. was called home on January 7, 2021 at the age of 62. John was born on August 14, 1958 in Cheyenne, Wyoming and growing up as the son of an army officer, lived his life throughout the US and overseas. John graduated with a degree in psychology from North Georgia College in 1983 and married his college sweetheart, Sandi. Later, he earned his law degree and worked for the Ken Nugent law firm in customer service for more than 20 years. John was also a devoted and loving father and grandfather and is survived by his son, Matt McEnery, daughter, Katie McEnery O’Rielly and granddaughter Harper McEnery. His first grandson, John W. McEnery III was born shortly after his passing. John is also survived by his wife of 38 years, Sandi McEnery, his father, John Winn McEnery Sr., and his brother, Douglas McEnery. John was preceded in death by his mother, Constance Markley McEnery.
John was a devout follower of Christ and throughout his life, showed love for others and was willing to go out of his way to help anyone, even strangers. His heart was always in the right place, and he impacted countless people with his selfless actions and encouraging attitude. Despite being afflicted with end-stage renal failure for many years, John never complained, lived life the fullest and was an optimistic example of how to overcome adversity.
A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held at 4:00 pm on January 24, 2021 at Elm Street Theatre: 8534 Main Street, Woodstock GA.
