John Hintz was truly larger than life. He worked hard, and loved harder - his family and friends meant the world to him. He was dependable, inquisitive, competitive and friendly. He graduated from Muskego High School, WI and went on to the University of Wisconsin, Stout, WI where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Construction Science.
John started his career at US Homes in Ft. Worth TX. He was with Landmark Homes, in Dallas, TX, as the Construction Manager for new home sales. Eventually, he decided to start his own custom home building company of his very own, Lakewood Homes, so he moved to Atlanta where the market was hot. Once there, he founded and ran a successful construction company, helping families all over the region, build and design their dream homes for over a decade.
Then, wanting to try something different, he ventured into commercial real estate, building four flourishing office parks in the East Cobb/Roswell area. John was a talented architect, developer, builder, and had a true and real passion for helping people.
John traveled the world, and soaked up the tropical Bahamian sunshine at his self-built vacation home, where he expanded his friend circle globally. A real sportsman, he enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing and beer. He made delicious feasts, exercised often, and told amazing stories. His final wishes are for his ashes to be scattered in the crystal clear waters of the Bahamas.
John is survived by his loving wife, Lucy Hintz; mother, Caroline Hintz; children: Brandon Hintz, Jenna Hintz, Melissa (JD) Thieke, Britni Kyle) Cavanaugh, Kelly (Ben) Martinez, and Brian (Madison) Rowen; sisters: Linda Norton, Michelle (Bob) Mucha; brother, Gary Hintz; grandchildren: Paxton Hintz, Julia and Hope Spencer, Madison and Spencer Thieke, Max Cavanaugh, Jonah Martinez, Sam Cavanaugh and Lydia Martinez.
