Jerry Wayne Phillips passed peacefully in his sleep 16 Aug 2019 at age 83. Jerry was a Man of God, Patriot and true American. Fascinated by aircraft from a young age Jerry graduated from Georgia Tech in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering.
After briefly serving in the US Army, Jerry worked his whole 30+ year career at Lockheed Martin and achieved the highest level of respect as a senior project engineer for many military projects. He received highest recognition for his work in Fly by Wire flight control systems.
Jerry had great love in his life in his marriage to Sue Phillips of 43 years. Jerry Loved God and worshiped at First Baptist Atlanta for more than five decades. He also loved the outdoors, hunting specifically duck hunting and Elk hunting. Jerry brought a kindness, dignity and a quick wit everywhere he went and is deeply loved and missed by all who know him.
Survived by wife Wanda Sue Phillips.
