James “Jamie” Francis McHenry IV of Roswell passed away on April 3, 2013. He was a student at Haynes Bridge Middle School. He was born on December 7, 1999. Jamie was an avid lacrosse player and played for The Centennial Junior Knights lacrosse program as well as The Georgia Outlaws travel lacrosse team. He was also a player on both The Centennial Knights basketball team and the Holy Redeemer basketball team and swam for Mayfair/St. Clair Marlins Swim Team. Jamie was known as “Rocket-Shot” by his lacrosse brothers and coaches for the velocity of his shots on goal. He loved the sport and took great pride in being a lacrosse player and being part of the lacrosse brotherhood. He helped coach and train his younger sister, Emily, who also developed a love for sports. Jamie was a quick-witted, bright young man, full of life and had a terrific sense of humor. He loved his family, his dog, his friends and his Florida Gators. He was a great son, great brother and a great friend. He will be missed by all.
He is preceeded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Vinnie Farrelly, and his paternal grandfather, James Francis McHenry, Jr, and Uncles Kevin Farrelly and Terry McHenry.
Jamie is survived by his parents, Christine and James Francis McHenry III, his sister, Emily McHenry, grandmother, Marie McHenry, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Tues., April 9th, with a Rosary at 8 p.m. at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd., Roswell, GA 30076. The Funeral Mass will be held at 2 P.M., Wed., April 10th at St. Brigid Catholic Church 3400 Old Alabama Road, Johns Creek, GA 30022. A reception will follow the mass at the church in The Family Center. Jamie will be placed at rest at a later date.
