Isabel was born in El Paso, Texas. She grew up in Southern California, and graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in Los Angeles.

Isabel met her future husband Robert Richey Kinnaman while working at the Farmers & Merchants Bank in Downtown Los Angeles and was married on July 5, 1952. Isabel enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of the roses she grew while she lived on Longden Street in Garden Grove, Ca. Two of her favorite varieties that she planted from bare root were “Sterling Silver” and the award winning “Double Delight.”

Isabel was able to travel in her later years, visiting her children in Kansas, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. In 2004, she left California to be near her youngest son John in Ridgefield, Connecticut. While living in Connecticut, Isabel ventured on excursions with friends to New York and Canada. She even went on a trip to Maui for her 80th birthday, where she surprised us all by wearing a swimsuit at the pool!

Isabel was predeceased by her husband – Robert; her three brothers – Manuel, Paul & Reuben Garcia and her sister – Ruth Montes; all of California.

Isabel is survived by her three sons, Greg (Linette) of Chapel Hill, NC and their children – Curtis, Carinna and Warren; Mark (Lynn) of Alpharetta, GA and their children – Matt and Chris (Kayla) and her two great grandchildren – Noah & Hannah; and John (Katie) of Irving, Texas and their children – Abbey, Maddie and Meredith. Isabel is also survived by her sister-in-law – Lilian Garcia of Whittier, CA; brother-in-law Ernie Montes of Palm Desert, CA; her dear 2nd cousin Alice Haskins of Oxnard, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved and cherished.

A graveside interment service will be scheduled for Summer 2021 in Huntington Beach, California. Details to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
