Isaac Lewis, the son of the late Richmond Lewis and Sarah Brown Lewis, was born on September 15, 1935 in Lake City, South Carolina. As one of three children he is preceded in death by his two brothers, Richmond and Robert Lewis. Isaac Lewis departed this life on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Woodstock Rehabilitation Center in Woodstock, Georgia.
As a young boy, Isaac was raised as a believer of Christ at Bethel Church in Cameron Town Community in South Carolina. Years later, he became a member of Agape Faith and Victory Temple in Waterbury, Connecticut where he became fondly known as “Deacon Pop” or “Lou Lou”
At the age of 18, he moved to Richmond, Virginia where he first started his career in construction, a career that would last well over 40 years building foundations for residential homes and painting lines for Connecticut highways.
When Isaac was in his 30s, he moved to Connecticut where he spent most of his life raising his children. In 2000, he returned back to his home state of South Carolina before eventually settling in Roswell, Georgia several years later.
Isaac was a man of simple pleasures, as he enjoyed fishing, watching baseball, and spending time with family. He will forever be remembered as a kindhearted, gentle-natured man with a loving smile.
Isaac Lewis leaves to cherish with fond memories his wife of 33 years and eight children: Mario (Ella) of Richmond, VA, Diane of Bridgeport, CT, Patricia (Mike) of Bridgeport, CT, Harold Lee of Bridgeport, CT, Jermaine of Waterbury, CT, Terrell of Danbury, CT, Wendy of Waterbury, CT, and Tyrone (Fela) of Roswell, GA. He is also survived by two aunts, Dorothy Hanna of Lake City, SC and Gladys Timmons of Florence, SC; sisters-in-law, Eloise White of Del Ray Beach, FL, Azilee (James) Tharpe of Warner Robins, GA and Laura (George) Elmore of King Street, SC; as well as 20 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
