George Lester Gagel

George was born to his late parents George and Marion on March 30, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio.

He was a graduate of the University of Florida with a Master’s degree in Education. George went on to have a successful career as an executive with IBM and retired in 1999. He married the love of his life, Candy in December of 1966 and shared two beautiful twin children together. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family upon retirement. George was a member of the golf club called the Charlie’s Angels at Brookfield Country Club.

George was preceded in death by his wife, Candy; his parents, George and Marion; and his sister, Marge.

He will be deeply missed by his children, George (Lynn) of Statesboro, GA and Ginger (Rick) Porubiansky of Woodstock, GA; grandchildren: George Jr. of Orlando, FL, Sarah of Brooklet, GA, and Durden (Tyla) of Statesboro, GA; great grandchildren, Presleigh and Pierce of Brooklet, GA.

A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday November 19, 2024 at 11 AM in Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell, GA with a Celebration of Life to follow at the family residence.
