George Robert Finch

George Robert Finch, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015. George was born in Hartford, Connecticut in December, 1927 to Harold and Helen (Reidy) Finch. After serving proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II flying PBMs, George graduated from The University of Hartford and went on to have an illustrious career with the IBM Corporation. George was also an adjunct professor with The University of Connecticut. He leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Jane, his three children: Richard (Jeannette), Catherine, Steven (Judith); his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He loved hitting the golf course, was involved in the Knights of Columbus, and in later years he became quite involved with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). He loved his faith and was an active member of Saint Brigid Catholic Church. Viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Saint Brigid, 3400 Old Alabama Rd, Johns Creek, GA 30022. Burial will be Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane, Canton, GA 30114.
