A devoted husband and father, George is survived by his wife of 21 years, Rosie, blessed with their three children, Ava Rose 19, George Joseph 16 and Sylvia Grace 14. George was born the eldest child of Joyce Adorisio and George Caldon in New York City, he is predeceased by his father and survived by his mother, younger siblings Brian and Jenny, his Godmother Marjorie Caldon and his big loving family that will forever carry George in their hearts.
George grew up a city boy and he still calls Ridgewood, NY his home where his fraternal grandparents lived and adored Georgie, raising him alongside his parents, and with the love of his Godmother Marjorie throughout his young life. He attended Catholic schools in Queens NY where he made lifelong cherished friendships. At a young age, George was eager to make a living and gain his independence. You could find him working long hours in delis and in route sales for food and beverage distributors. He was a proud New Yorker and a loyal NY sports fan wearing his Yankees, Jets, and Knicks gear at every opportunity and any sporting event, no matter if a NY team was even playing. George’s love of family includes the friends he made throughout his career at Matco, Mayfield, and most of all Gino’s Pizza. He was a great listener, observer and had a knack for learning languages, easily picking up Italian and Spanish to connect with people genuinely, the only way he knew how to be.
George met his true love Rosie in 1996 at her sister Josephine’s Deli in Queens. George’s love of NY didn’t stop him from leaving the big city behind to start a family with Rosie in Roswell, Georgia where Rosie’s big Italian-American family welcomed them with lots of love, good food and good times. He adored his nieces and nephews and George’s pride and joy was and will always be his three children. He never wanted to miss our countless family celebrations, sporting and school events for his children, always there to cheer them on, catch them and console them if they fell, always beaming with pride and gratitude for the beautiful, intelligent and kind-hearted children he was blessed with. George’s love and devotion as a husband and father will forever fill our hearts.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 3-4 PM at Roswell Funeral Home. A service in honor of George will immediately follow from 4-5 PM, followed by a reception at Gino’s Pizza Bar in Atlanta GA.
