Berto Dorcelien, aged 54, of Alpharetta, GA, passed away on June 29, 2024, in Nashville, TN, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Mr. Wiener Dorcelien and Josette Barolette. Berto lived a life rich in service, education, and family.
Berto leaves behind his beloved wife, Dalila Dorcelien, and his cherished children: Mikhail Isais Dorcelien, Mercy Josette Dorcelien, and his three bonus children Justin Guerrier, Janiah Guerrier, and Anyssa Mayard. He was a proud grandfather to Ariyah Celeste Guerrier. Berto is also survived by his brothers, Alix James Dorcelien and Julian Jerry Dorcelien, and his sister, Nadege Dowdy as well as Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, nieces and nephews. His faithful canine companion, Kiko, was a constant source of joy and companionship. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Berto had an insatiable love for the outdoors, often finding solace and joy in fishing, hiking and traveling. Berto had a passion for cars and enjoyed spending time behind the wheel, exploring new places and embracing life's adventures. In his quieter moments, Berto often sought the wisdom of his mother, Josette during his morning walks with his faithful companion, kiko.
Berto's academic achievements were marked by his dedication and perseverance, earning him two PhDs from Columbia University. Following his academic pursuits, Berto served his country honorably as a veteran of the U.S. Army before transitioning to a successful career as a business owner.
Above all, Berto will be remembered for his warmth and inclusivity. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and welcomed. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Berto’s family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:30am on July 13, 2024 at Roswell Funeral Home in Roswell, GA. A funeral service to celebrate Berto’s life and legacy will be held in the Roswell Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 11:30am, followed immediately by his committal in Green Lawn Cemetery. Following the committal services, the family will host a repast in honor and remembrance of Berto Dorcelien.
Berto's legacy of love, service, and acceptance will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the everlasting love of his family and friends.
