Evelyn Lucile Thomason Day,88 of Cumming, Georgia passed away November 22, 2015 at her home after a long extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Georgia, and the daughter of the late W.G. and Lucile Thomason and step-mother Lily Thomason. Evelyn was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William Vester “W.V.” Day, Jr., three brothers, Forest, James and Herman Thomason, one sister, Irene Fouts and one son-in-law, Ronald Anglin. She is survived by her two sons, Howard (Brenda) Day of Cumming, Albert “Al” (Jane) Day of Dawsonville; two daughters, Beverly Anglin and Rita (Dan) Booker both of Cumming; three grandchildren, Michael (Corrie) Day, Melissa (Larry) Mills both of Dawsonville, Tracey (Kevin) Lester of Cumming; three great- grandchildren, Lexy (Tyler) Couch of Jasper, Cameron Day and Lacy Mills both of Dawsonville; two step-great grandchildren, Jamie (Patrick) Holloway (son,Trenton) of Dahlonega , and Courtney Williams of Cumming. Our family would have had a more difficult time with keeping our Mother at home for the past 5 years had it not been for our wonderful care-givers, Wilda Pirkle and Mary Kemptner. Our family is forever grateful for the loving care they provided for her. We were truly blessed to have them become a member of our family during this time of need.
A service to celebrate the life of Evelyn Day will be held at Roswell Funeral Home Chapel in Roswell on Wednesday, November 25 at 1:00 PM, she will be laid to rest in Green Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Alan Sutton officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 24, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Roswell Funeral Home. Family arrangements are under the care of Roswell Funeral Home
