Eva Lois Davis Horner, 98, of Alpharetta, Georgia, died on Sunday, 8th November 2020. She was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on 9th March 1922 and grew up in Jackson, Miss. A graduate of Belhaven College in Jackson, she held various jobs over the years as a secretary, at the University of South Carolina, Anderson College, and at a law firm in Anderson. She was a friend and counselor to many throughout her life. She was a lifelong member of the Baptist church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She was pre-deceased by a sister, Lola Matheson de Menendez of Luzon, Phillippines, a brother, Mendell Davis of Jackson, and her husband of 55 years, Charles W. Horner. Surviving her are a daughter, Janet Horner Brown of John’s Creek, Ga., and a son Davis W.M. Horner of Greenville, SC, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Plans for a memorial service have not been made at this time due to the pandemic. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Parkway Baptist Church in Duluth, Georgia, or to your local Public Broadcasting affiliate
