Erik is survived by his parents, Michael and Janet Adamson of Ninety Six, SC; his beloved twin sons Christian and Grayson, age 9, who live with their mother Tina Oliveira, in Roswell, GA; paternal grandparents Milo and Marjorie Adamson of Laurens, SC; twin brother Mark and his wife Deana of Charlotte, NC; brother Todd and his wife Kim of Ellijay, GA; and nieces and nephew, Ashlyn, Carmen and Ian. Erik shared a life-long close relationship with his brothers and they along with the extended family recently celebrated Marjorie and Milo's 75th wedding anniversary in November.
Erik was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana and lived in Chicago during his early elementary school years. The family relocated in 1977 to Dunwoody, GA where Erik was a 1985 graduate of Dunwoody High School. At Dunwoody, Erik excelled in percussion, and played snare drum in the marching band and tympani in the high school concert band. His musical excellence won him many awards and he was selected to tour eight European Countries with the United States Collegiate Wind Band.
After high school, Erik attended The University of South Carolina on a music scholarship. He was very active on campus and with his twin brother, was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity where he mentored new initiates and served as the pledge warden. He graduated with double majors in Marketing and Finance in the spring of 1990.
Erik enjoyed several careers; first in the securities industry and later working at Home Depot and then at Lowe's, where he found a second family and many caring friends.
Erik enjoyed cooking, music, great conversation and was a voracious reader. He never met a stranger and loved sharing humor and stories, especially about his two sons. Erik was a very modest and gentle man who will be sadly missed.
A memorial celebrating Erik's life will be held on January 14 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA.
