Elmer George Theobald, 86, passed away suddenly on April 20, 2013 and is now with his Lord Jesus Christ. Born in Newark, NJ in 1927, he grew up in Union, NJ and was an active Boy Scout. After high school, Elmer enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving during WWII as an aircraft mechanic and aerial gunner. Upon discharge he attended Washington & Jefferson College where he was member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He worked as an industrial engineer retiring in 1987 from JC Penney in NYC. He and his family have resided in the Stone Mountain and Dunwoody, GA since 1968. A member of North Point Community Church, Alpharetta, Elmer is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley Noll Theobald, their two children, Ed Theobald, wife Mary and Nancy Theobald Burrow, husband, Ken; four grandchildren, Corine Theobald Parker and husband, Adam, David Theobald, Allie Burrow and Hayes Burrow. Visitation will be from 6:30 - 8:30 pm, Wed., April 24, and the Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon, Thurs., April 25 both at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd., Roswell, GA 30076. He will be placed at rest in a private service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
