Daniel Anthony Salerno born April 23, 1922 passed away on Tuesday, January 13th, 2015. He was 92. Mr. Salerno was born and raised in Manhattan and lived there until his marriage. He enlisted and served his Country during World War II. After his marriage, he resided in Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Lakehurst New Jersey before moving to Alpharetta GA in 1997. He was employed as an accountant for the New York City, Housing Authority until his retirement.
He was preceeded in death by his beloved wife, Charlotte (nee Eckenberger), his brother Vito, sister and brother in law, Mary and George Wamsley, and brother in law Tom Eckenberger. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Steve and Irene Salerno, granddaughter Jackie, and her husband Bryan, his sisters Lucille Salerno and Fanny Eckenberger, and niece Teresa Ann Collingham. He will be missed by both family and friends.
A service to celebrate the life of Daniel will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Roswell Funeral Home with Father Paul Flood officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and there will be a Reception following the service at Roswell Funeral Home.
