Raised in Greensboro, AL, Cindy and family made their homes in both Tampa, FL and Alpharetta, GA. Cindy worked for the Hillsborough County School system, retiring as Registrar from H.B. Plant High School.
Family and friends were Cindy’s loves, and her passion was travel and nature. Through her photography, she shared what was most dear to her with others. Cindy filled her home with music, love, and laughter. Although she was a gentle soul who quietly touched many lives, she was also an immovable force who refused to be given a timeline in life. In our profound sadness, she is missed beyond words, but we know she is now at peace and in everlasting life.
Cindy is survived by her husband Chris, sons Tyler and Scott, mother Laura Johnson, siblings Bill (Phyllis) Tubbs, Leisa (Robert) Aderholt, Chip (Louan) Tolbert, Terry (Jen) Tolbert, loving cousins,
many special nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends who were family. Cindy was predeceased by her father William Penny Tubbs and parents-in- law Robert and Barbara Tolbert.
The family wishes to thank all of those who reached out with support. We are grateful to the doctors and staff at both the Johns Creek campus of Emory Hospital and the Winship Cancer Institute for their tireless work. We are also thankful to Homestead Hospice for their loving care.
Cindy requested a private celebration of life with her family. In lieu of flowers, Cindy has asked for you to plant a tree or flower in her honor. Donations may be made to a charity of special meaning to you or to the Emory Winship Cancer Institute.
“Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you there.”
